Principles of Caregiving –
LEVEL I CAREGIVING FUNDAMENTALS

$150.00 per person ($125 Training/Testing; $25 Materials)

• Required by the State of Arizona for all DCW.
• A total of 15 classroom hours.
• Reviews basic job skills, including tools for effective communication, problem solving and basic medical/legal terms, as well as best practices for interaction with clients with aging/physical disabilities.
• Additional topics covered are legal and ethical issues, communication, cultural competency, job management skills, infection control, nutrition and food preparation, and safety.

Principles of Caregiving –
LEVEL II DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES

$150.00 per person ($125 Training/Testing; $25 Materials)

• Optional coursework, based on DCW employer’s job requirements or job placement.
• A total of 15 classroom hours.
• Coursework covers developmental disabilities, working with people who have disabilities, support planning, abuse and neglect, incident reporting.

Principles of Caregiving –
LEVEL II AGING AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES

$150.00 per person ($125 Training/Testing; $25 Materials)

• Required by the State of Arizona for all DCW.
• A total of 15 classroom hours.
• Coursework covers aging and physical disabilities, body systems, physical disabilities and conditions, psychological and emotional conditions, personal care, transfers and positioning, sexuality issues, activity planning and dementia specific care.
